學校簡介
長沙理工大學1956年建校，經過60多年的發展，現已建設成為以工為主，多學科協調發展，具有鮮明的交通、電力、水利、輕工等行業特點的多科性大學。學校現有金盆嶺、云塘兩個校區，設有22個教學學院、1個獨立學院和1個繼續教育學院，現有全日制在校學生41000余人，其中博士、碩士研究生6500余人。已為行業和區域經濟社會發展培養了40余萬高級專門人才。是國家“中西部高校基礎能力建設工程”高校、首批全國“創新創業典型經驗高校”50強、湖南省“國內一流大學建設高校”（A類）。
學校廣泛開展國際合作交流，先后與美國、英國、法國、加拿大、俄羅斯及港澳臺等20多個國家和地區的90余所高等院校和科研機構建立了交流與合作關系。具有招收和培養來華留學生資格，是中國政府獎學金來華留學生培養單位。學校與黑山大學、利比里亞大學、沙巴大學分別合作共建孔子學院。

長沙理工大學自1999年起具有招收和培養國際學生資格，自2007年成建制招收國際學生以來，我校國際學生規模增長迅速。近年來，國際學生國別來源數增長到 60余個，年招生規模達200人，是“湖南省來華留學生和港澳臺學生工作先進單位”。
形成了以學歷教育為主、長短期漢語言培訓為輔的多種類、多層次綜合培養體系，學歷教育涵蓋了本科生、碩士研究生和博士研究生。培養形式包括中國政府獎學金生、國際中文教師獎學金生、校企合作生、校際合作生、自費生等。優勢專業包括土木工程、交通工程、電氣工程、水利工程、機械工程、食品工程、工商管理等，均可用中、英文授課。
