考古學是通過挖掘物質文化來研究過去社會，從舊石器時代到早期歷史時期。學生學習挖掘方法和分析技術，并有機會使用賓夕法尼亞博物館及其考古材料分析中心 (CAAM) 的藏品。考古學專業的學生學習人類學所有子領域的入門課程，并主要在考古學方面完成剩余的課程。

畢業要求：榮譽學士學位
minimum GPA of 3.5 in the major and write a senior thesis.
研究生課程的重點是培養哲學博士學位的候選人。這個學位認證,除了良好的人類學知識作為一個整體,持票人被訓練做獨立研究的專業水平能力至少在人類學的主要學科之一:考古學、文化人類學、體質人類學,語言人類學。
畢業要求：畢業總課程單元為20個。在賓夕法尼亞大學必須修至少12個課程單元。
