食品科學熱門學校推薦
1）Purdue University：食品很強，不過它的Faculty很強大，申請時不宜錯過，競爭很激烈。要求GRE verbal 〉400，Quantitative〉500，AnalyticalWriting 〉4.0。托福 〉80以上，TWE〉4.0。Purdue是幾大名校中最重視GT的。IFT主席就在Purdue。它的方向很全面，Food Chemistry、Food Microbiology、Food Processing(Engineering)每一個分支都有強大的教授陣容。
2）Cornell University：據說該校的食品專業當屬美國Top 1，Cornell是美國常春藤盟校中唯一開始食品專業的大學，綜合實力非常強，研究方向很全面，涉及所有食品科學的研究方向。每年來自世界各地的申請者非常多。Cornell的特點是它的食品教授陣容有些來自其他系，學生可以接觸到不同背景的教授，也可以拜他們為導師。Cornell沒有GRE的底線，聲稱只看申請者綜合實力，他們的教授都很熱情，小秘也很熱情，有疑問的話發E-mail給小秘有去必有回。無處不顯示名校風范。
3）University of California-Davis：都說它的食品科學是全美第二，確實很強，Davis同樣沒有GRE底線（你會發現，越是排名高的名校，對GRE越是沒有底線要求）。Davis在加州，地理位置和氣候是Purdue和Cornell不能比的，所以申請的人很多，錄取比大概100:15，很激烈。Davis的另一個特點是給的獎學金少，據Pertersons統計，fellowship居然1年1萬都不到，RA也只有1萬/年，在加州生活起來有些拮據，不過應該足夠了。Davis食品系資金偏少，有浙大在Davis讀食品的同學說，食品系錢少，就是有一點錢也給國內學生了。
4）Rutgers，the State Universityof New Jersey：Rutgers是新澤西州立大學，是食品專業申請的熱門學校，食品教授陣容強大，有好幾個IFT fellow在里面。食品化學方向的幾個教授居然有人問鼎Nature和Science，很了不起。學生也非常多，因為新澤西食品工業發達，有很多食品公司的研究人員在里面充電，或充當Part time student，學校的資金也很多，給的獎學金也高（不過在新澤西物價高昂），實驗室裝備精良。它對GRE的要求是這樣說的：V 400以上，但最好是500，Q最好700以上，托福最好550以上，拿TA的話最好575以上。要求不算高。
5）University of Georgia:它的食品專業非常強大，教授很多，系主任是LWT主編，他是美國食品界的大紅人，不知道為什么就算不是LWT上的論文，很多其他學校的人發文章都要寫上他的名字，也許他的合作研究比較多。我投稿的時候與他有過E-mail聯系。來自中國的訪問學者很多，好像中國人很多喜歡去那里。對GRE沒有底線要求。研究生院的辦事方式有點死板，申請材料明明很完善，它也要看出點問題來，要你重新寄材料或糾正某個材料上的"錯誤"，給他們自己找麻煩，他們也不厭其煩。
6）Ohio State University：OSU是中國學生的大眾情人，它的地理位置很好，五大湖的熱門學校。很多人喜歡申請，中國學生有3000人，據說到了那里只講中文都能過日子，反正滿大街都是中國人。該校食品與營養系很強，學生也多，化學、微生物、工程都涉及一點。對GRE的要求是V+Q>1000，AW不低于3.0
